Say Hi

Singer/songwriter Eric Elbogen is the brainchild behind the quirky sweetness of Say Hi to Your Mom. Elbogen formed the indie rock project in 2002 in his native New York, NY. He also founded Euphobia Records that same year as an outlet to release his records, the first one being the Discosadness LP. Both that and the enchanting Numbers & Mumbles (2003) were recorded on Elbogen’s homemade PC, and his hands-on approach captured Say Hi to Your Mom’s tightly woven acoustic sound in progress. For 2005’s Ferocious Mopes, drummer Chris Egan III and ex-Sea Ray keyboardist Jeff Sheinkopf were added to the Say Hi to Your Mom lineup after touring in support of Numbers & Mumbles. North American shows with Nada Surf followed in 2005; additional tour dates with Dirty on Purpose coincided with the 2006 release of Impeccable Blahs. In 2008, the group shortened its name to Say Hi, released The Wishes and the Glitch in February, and signed with Barsuk Records before the year was up. - ©1992-2008 All Media Guide, LLC
Telekinesis

Telekinesis is the project of Michael Benjamin Lerner. Michael recorded Telekinesis! at Two Sticks Audio in Seattle with producer Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists, Tegan and Sara). Michael wrote and sang all of the songs and played nearly all of the instruments on the album, but tours with a full band that includes David Broecker (guitar), Jonie Broecker (bass, keyboards), and Chris Staples (guitar).
Influenced both by the carefully constructed timeless pop of the 60s and 70s and by the nonchalance and brevity of classic indie rock, Walla and Lerner approached the recording of Telekinesis! with the goal that each song’s tracking and mixing would be done to analog tape in a single day, and that they would never look back.
Seattle’s The Stranger says, “Lerner has an ear for bright, easy, slightly retro pop hooks, and his songs take unexpected, off-kilter turns.”
Telekinesis will hit the road in late February with Ra Ra Riot and plan to tour throughout 2009 with appearances at Noise Pop and SXSW. - Merge Records
